Ask HN: Should I Work for a Startup?

Hi all,

I just received an offer at a startup mainly doing team management and little bit of engineering (~15% of my job). I'm currently a freshman community college student straight out of high school and I was wondering if it was worth it to maybe stop a year of CC to work in a startup.

I might not be able to transfer within next year if I take this position but I feel like this would be some valuable experience that'd eventually make me competitive in the workforce.

What are y'all thoughts on temporarily stopping academics to work at a startup? I'm hoping I can gain some valuable experience for my future career in tech.

Thanks!
