Uber and Lyft Scooter Idea

In cities like San Francisco where scooters are being banned because they get left on the street, why don't these companies offer drivers extra money to carry scooters in their trunks. Users could then request scooters via the app and drivers would get a cut. They could also do pools with further drop off locations offering a scooter to finish the trip. When drivers don't have passengers they could pick up scooters where they were dropped off and do charging if they wanted.
