Have you used Focus Groups to market your startup?

Have any of you had any success with using Focus Groups to find early adopters, feedback and marketing for your startup/tool.

We're trying out some similar activity for http://grexit.com, our startup, but would like to know how it turned out from someone who has tried it out in the past.
