"Google is the next Microsoft"

I think this statement is wrong. Google and Microsoft are similar in that they fail to deliver a small range of specifically engineered products like Facebook or Apple. Buzz and Wave were failures but Gmail, Maps, Adwords, and Adsense have been hugely successful. With today's announcement of their AI driven autos I think you can say that Google is exploring and innovating in variety of areas that Facebook, Apple, or Microsoft cannot compete in. Would love to hear peoples' thoughts.
