Ask HN: EDAC vs. vendor monitoring

Hi, recently it has come up that none of the hardware vendors we use supports edac running on linux. It seems edac is keeping the vendor monitoring solutions (usually built into the remote management cards) from noticing memory errors.

Lenovo: https://support.lenovo.com/de/en/solutions/ht107942 Dell: https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln283389/edac-errors-in-messages-log-in-redhat-enterprise-linux-rhel-and-poweredge HP: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-a00016026en_us Fujitsu: [ I did not find a link for this but their support told us to blacklist edac]

So my question: do you disable edac your servers in favor of vendor supplied monitoring? Is there any vendor that properly integrates with edac?

Greetings Klaas
