Ask HN: Strange goings-on with GitHub trending?

Has anybody else noticed some possibly unusual activity among GitHub repo rankings lately?

Some of these don't seem like the usual technical fare, and have had curious staying power while continuing to receive large numbers of upvotes.

Maybe something, maybe nothing.
