Ask HN: What is the future of Designing in the Browser? Is it the best approach?

Hi,

I am new to user experience and user interface design stuff. I am been reading a lot lately on 'designing in the browser' is the way to go in long term. I just want your opinion as to the pros and cons of these two methods. Personally, I was not too comfortable with designing in the browser stuff. Feel that creativity takes a back-seat. What are your thoughts? Sorry, if I am being naive.
