Whatsapp Insecurity – Signal Protocol is not the issue

The Whatsapp Insecurity is much simpler (and nobody talks about it!?

On your iPhone Whatsapp asks you to save all your conversations in an iCloud Backup (default setting) which is cleary available to government institutions. Even if you decide not to save your conversations in the iCloud Backup, your insecure friends do it for you!

Why is nobody talking about that? And why is there a Signal Protocol when the issue is right before that?
